     • “And whatever strikes you of disaster is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.” (Quran 42:30)
   • Natural Disasters or Trials: Sometimes, calamities like floods, earthquakes, or droughts are seen as a form of punishment for widespread corruption, injustice, or disobedience to Allah's commands. However, these events also serve as a reminder to reflect and return to righteousness.

   • Accountability on the Day of Judgment: Ultimately, all individuals will be held accountable for their actions on the Day of Judgment. Those who have committed sins without repentance and have not sought Allah’s forgiveness may face severe punishment in Hell. Allah describes the torment of the disbelievers and sinful people in the Quran:
     • “Indeed, those who disbelieved and died while they were disbelievers – upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and of mankind, all together.” (Quran 2:161)
     • “Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is severe.” (Quran 85:12)
   • But Allah’s Mercy is Greater: Despite the warnings, Allah’s mercy outweighs His wrath. He is the most forgiving, and He invites His creation to seek repentance. The Quran says:
     • “Say: O My servants who have harmed yourselves by your own actions, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Allah forgives all sins; He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” (Quran 39:53)
   • The Concept of Repentance: Allah promises forgiveness for those who turn to Him with sincere repentance. The punishment that is feared can be alleviated through a genuine return to faith and obedience:
     • “And He it is who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons their sins...” (Quran 42:25)

     • “No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it is the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for it.” (Sahih Bukhari)
   • Sins Can Be Purified by Trials: For those who commit mistakes but maintain their faith in Allah, trials and difficulties can serve as a means of purification, helping to expunge their wrongdoings before the Hereafter.

   • Returning to Allah: The key to avoiding punishment and earning Allah’s forgiveness is repentance (Tawbah). Allah is always ready to forgive those who turn to Him in sincere repentance, no matter how grave their sins. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
     • “Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than a man who has lost his camel in a desert and then finds it.” (Sahih Muslim)
   • Constant Seeking of Forgiveness: Allah encourages His believers to seek forgiveness regularly. The Quran mentions:
     • “Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving.” (Quran 71:10)
